How We Chose Our Categories

We have chosen the various categories in the OS/2 e-Zine! 1997 Readers' Choice Awards to represent a broad cross section of the OS/2 market.

Last month, we asked for nominations of applications or developers that our readers thought should be considered for the OS/2 e-Zine! Readers' Choice Awards. The results were counted and the top five products and/or developers for each category were selected as our nominations. (In some cases, due to the nature of the OS/2 market, there may have been only four applications nominated.) In each category, these nominees are listed in alphabetical order, with links to WWW sites where more information is available. In cases where no WWW site was available, we have included a link to either the product's entry in the BMT Micro on-line catalog, or to a downloadable version of the application from the OS/2 Supersite. These links are provided for your convenience. These links are included for your convenience if you prefer to evaluate the nominees before casting your votes.

To be eligible for the OS/2 e-Zine! 1997 Readers' Choice Awards, companies must have been operating and/or products must have been publicly available on or before December 31, 1997.

Voting Instructions

To enter your votes in the OS/2 e-Zine! 1997 Readers' Choice Awards, you must use the on-line form provided.

To use the on-line form:

enter your e-mail address in the field provided (this is required to authenticate the uniqueness of your vote)
review the list of nominees in each category
in the appropriate category, select the company or product from the drop-down list (note: WebEx users will see "spin-buttons" instead of a "drop-down list") that you believe was the best of its kind in 1997
repeat step #3 for every category you wish to vote in
if you have no opinion in a category or if you believe that none of the nominees deserve to be named "Readers' Choice", use the "I do not wish to vote in this category" selection
when you have entered all your votes, click the "Send Us Your Votes" button at the bottom of the form one time

Note: Only one ballot per person will be accepted. If multiple ballots from one person are received, the most recent will be used and others will be discarded.

Readers may enter votes in as few as one category or as many as all categories. Please remember though, only one ballot per person will be counted.

Voting Deadline

Votes must be received by Haligonian Media on or before midnight January 13th, 1998, Atlantic Standard Time. Due to the nature of the Internet, we recommend you send in your votes as early as possible. Haligonian Media is not responsible for lost or incompletely transmitted votes. Votes received after midnight January 13th, 1998 (AST) will be discarded.

Results of the OS/2 e-Zine! 1997 Readers' Choice Awards will be calculated and reported in our January 16th, 1998 issue along with summaries of the winning products and companies.
